My name is Ze'eva, though most call me Ze. I'm here to tell you a little story, a story about my life. And what a life it has been!
I grew up, the daughter of the Captain Seelie Guard. My mother had died when I was but a small child, I don't really remember her. My father, he doted on me, spoiled me, though perhaps not how you might think a father would, his only daughter, his only child. No, there were no pink ribbons and pretty frilly dresses in my past. There were swords and daggers, coming from around the world. There were fist fights and bloody noses, all in the way of teaching me to fend and fight for myself. There was treasure hunting and dragon fighting. (Alright, perhaps not so much of the last, but I'll never admit any different) .....
My father made my life a living adventure.
And then he died...murdered.
I was away when it happened, hunting some treasure or another my father had told me about.
I'll never really forgive myself. You know how it is, something happens, and you think if you had stayed, if you were around, things would have turned out differently. That's my way of thinking. If I had stayed, my father would still be alive, would still be with us. Some would ask...'how could a mere slip of a girl save all those people'...Well, who knows, it could have happened, right? For I was my father's Daughter
After a short time, I relized, my father wouldn't want me to wallow away in despair like I had been. He -would- want me to live my life to the fullest. It's what he'd taught me from the beginning. So, off I went, seeking treasure after treasure.
Oh, did I forget to mention, that I am a treasure hunter, an adventure seeker. You can blame my father, for all of that, I know that I do. And it is with a smile and a wonderful memory that I do so.
And ohhh what fun I have had, searching for the treasures that I have found. The sailing around the world, the travel across lands unknown. Sometimes feeling as if I've went into the bowels of hell, just to get the simplest of things. Such as a needle.
Yes, that's right, a needle. But, not just any needle, a 'magic' needle. One that can... Oh, wait, I'm to tell you how I came to get my pretty little hands on such a thing. Well, see, it was like this..
There was this nasty old hag, that lived in the woods (Yes, it does seem that most old nasty looking hags, live in the woods, doesn't it). She seemed to like youthful girls. And no, no, not in a good way either. These girls, were used for one thing and one thing only.
Their Flesh
Yes, you read that right. Their flesh. She would use this needle, to sew their flesh onto her own, so that she was able to look better. Gross, right? Right. I agree with you. But, it's what she does. And I...I was the one that found her and took it. MmHmmm... Took..it. Not an easy feat, let me tell you.
I set myself up as bait. What? Is that hard to believe? I mean, really, I am youthful...Okay, okay! I'm youthful looking! But that's besides the point. The point is, I set myself up as bait, and she took it. I'm not really sure how I got to her place. One moment I was walking at the edge of town, the next I was waking up in a small cage. The hut was sweltering and smelled of rotting flesh. The old hag humming away, sharping a blade, eyeing her needle...A needle that was soon to be mine, no doubt.
It was then, I saw with my own eyes, what this needle could do. The hag, already had a strip of flesh...flesh? Oh yes, and let me just say, I had to do a quick sweep over my own body, just to make sure it wasn't mine. Strange, I'm sure, but...I was in a small state of shock. Anyway, this needle was sewing..-all-..by itself. That's right! ALL by itself. All she did was hold the flesh in place, and the needle sets about stiching it right on. It was amazing..and I knew just who to give it to, but first, I had to get out of the damn cage.
I had to wait for the old hag to fall asleep, when she did, I unlocked the cage...gotta love that small power of unlocking things, don'tcha? Took the needle and hightailed it on out of there. Of course, I did it in wolf form (wolves run so much faster than a fae, let me say),after putting the needle into a pouch I had around my neck, of course. We all know a wolf couldn't carry a needle.
There are other things I have gotten over the years of being away, such as a Soup Spoon, it never allows the owner to go hungry. A Spinning Wheel, that weaves straw into gold. A bloody shame I'm allergic to gold, huh? There are other things, some I kept for myself, others I gave away, such as the Soup Spoon, how could I keep it, when someone else was in more need of having a full tummy, than I. I'm sure those kids will pass it on, when the time is right.
I Never returned to Paris. I was having way to much fun, exploring, going on adventurenever, finding things that no one else could. I never had the need or desire to go back.
Until now
Now?...Now, I've a hint of something very special. A treasure all of its own. One that has made sure I found myself back in Paris
And I'm back, for one thing and one thing only....
Let's see what I can find.
