History and Information

We have two key areas to Urban Legends:
  1. Salem Centre, NY
Salem Centre is the location of the Westchester School for Gifted Youngsters. Other hotspots include Salem itself and Harry’s Roadhouse.

The school is self-contained. Applications are necessary to enroll, as well as a realistic way of how you found yourself there. The school is not known by word of mouth. It is discrete and new, unknown and silent. This is not the hostel from Shadow City. The school has its own homepage and information. Please be sure to familiarize yourself with this if you should decide to stay there.

  2. New York City, NY
Welcome to NYC. It’s much more likely that your character will find a home here. There are people everywhere as this is The City That Never Sleeps. The park, the diners and cafes, the city streets, Times Square. Things run 24 hours here and there is almost always someone out and about, whether NPC or otherwise. Please keep in mind that NYC has a population of approximately 1,000,000 people. You are never truly alone in this city.

Urban Legends RPG is not the Marvel/DC Universe. You do not have to play a character like Spiderman or The Incredible Hulk to fit in here. We welcome mutants, humans, and original characters in the realm.

There is, however, a list of mutant characters who are believed far too powerful to be played in the realm and/or the X-Genes storyline. This list is located below and is far from complete. Kindly respect those decisions and do not bring these personas into play. This list is far from complete and The Tribunal reserves the right to make any additions and/or deletions to this list following discussions about characters.

The X-Genes Storyline Homepage as well as Used Celebrities Page are maintained by The Rogue@soi. Contact her with additions and deletions for these pages. Please advise when you are no longer using a persona/image so the page can be as accurate as possible.

Politics in Urban Legends

Because none of us want to accidentally run afoul of Secret Service or the FBI by plotting a nifty story involving our real Commander-in-Chief getting smashed by Juggernaut or eaten alive by Zombies (cathartic though it may be), the Tribunal has put together the following team of fictional politicians to inhabit that big house at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. It's safe to assume we currently have a Republican administration based on previous play.

Politicians of Note in Urban Legends:
President: Harry Scopes
Vice President: Jack Ryan
Secretary of State: Sheree Briner
Secretary of the Treasury: Hanna Dexter
Secretary of Defense: Jacob Hice
Attorney General: Ari Weingard
Secretary of the Interior: Marilyn Demakis
Secretary of Agriculture: Dallas Erlantz
Secretary of Commerce: Dwight Arnold
Secretary of Labor: Pradeep Smythe-Browne
Secretary of Health and Human Services: David Xian
Secretary of Housing and Urban Development: Martin McGilivrey
Secretary of Transportation: Sylvia Kropf
Secretary of Energy: Michael “Mack” Reamer
Secretary of Education: Anne Rainer
Secretary of Veterans' Affairs: Cornelius Leach
Secretary of Homeland Security: Fenton Echard

The First Lady: Margaret Hice
The Mayor of New York: David Stanton
The Governor of New York: Ellen H. Fionda>

(Yes, that Jack Ryan.)

And just for clarification purposes, these characters mostly serve as NPCs. If you have an interest in bringing one of them into play, please contact Tribunal before doing so.
