History - Arnold grew up in the city, his father working the docks, his mother tending bar at various local establishments. He graduated high school and with little interest in attending a university, he enlisted in the Army. He had very respectable ASVAB test scores and could have enlisted in a wide variety of in demand MOS jobs, Turk however went for the infantry. The Army doesn't guarantee things for enlistees such as airborne school or Rangers or Special Forces, however, they do give duty station of choice. Turk wanted to be an Army Ranger, and in a well planned angle to guarantee him his Ranger training, his duty station of choice was Ft Lewis Washington, Ranger Battalion. Since you must be a ranger to be stationed at a Ranger Battalion, it was a backdoor guarantee into the service he dreamed of.
Turk underwent OSUT at Ft Benning GA, and after 2 weeks of liberty, he reported to Ft Lewis Washington only to be turned around and sent back to Benning again for (in this order) Airborne School, Ranger School, and Sniper School. After more than a year of training (due to training cycle delays) he reported back to his duty station at Ft Lewis.
He was deployed to Afghanistan and only a few months short of rotating home again, he was involved in a freak accident that ended his military career. In the back of a deuce and a half traveling between a forward observation post and a near by base, the truck driver had a sneezing fit and wrecked the truck. Turk was thrown from the vehicle and had his left leg run over by the rear wheels.
While Turk was deployed, his father died in an accident on the docks and his mother, Anne-Marie Turk, more or less vanished. He has come "home" to the city with no job prospects, no family,or at least none that he can locate, no friends to speak of and a very uncertain future.
Turk had been offered a very good job with SPA Enterprises upon returning to The City, however after a few months of time on duty, his leg injury became aggravated and he had to take time off. The generosity of the boss though kept him employed and took care of the bills. Good folks for sure.
Turk is currently finished with physical treatment for his leg and drawing on a medical pension from the Army while his lawyers try to reorganize a legal battle for medical benefits owed to him.
He has taken possession of his fathers property south of The City and as a hobby of sorts, he is fine tuning his idea of the perfect Semi Auto Sniper rifle.
Since getting his concealed carry permit, he always has his Sig with him, hidden in a pancake holster under his clothes
He has, while working for the SPA developed and put into service his own sniper rifle. the Lapua .338
