On March 21, 2005, St. John Harding
retired as Chief Executive Officer of IML Reinsurance where he'd worked
for nine years, three of which he'd held the CEO position. Many
people believed that IML's golden boy would accept a position with
another firm but instead he disappeared from the radar, inciting more
than one person to speculate that he had finally burned out.
The truth of the matter is that the
speculations were dangerously close to the truth. After near 100
percent devotion of his time to education and then his career Sinjin
had had enough and had taken the opportunity to get out when it was
handed to him.
He sold his properties, cut his
possessions down to next to nothing and took up residence on a yacht, Serenity,
in the caribbean.
Five years later, he's back on the
mainland intent on exploring an old passion. Horses. His initial intent
had been to join with previous partners in racehorse ownership but a
chance conversation turned his interest in another direction. Within
weeks he'd purchased WildSpirit,
an Oldenburg stallion, and had taken his first step towards owning a
stable devoted to breeding and training dressage and jumpers. In the
back of his mind, he also has it to include a facility devoted to
riding for the handicapped for both children and adults.
He's in The City to take a look at
available property for Serenity Farms. It's already been vetted the man
hired as his manager, so it's just up to him to approve and sign the
papers.
