*the door blows open and an armoured figure walks in and proceeds to walk to the bar. Upon reaching the bar, the intricate dragon helm that covered his features melts away, revealing a well tanned face. He turns to look around the inn, his eyes truly visible for the first time. They are a deep, vibrant blue. He leans back against the bar, not at all concerned that he might be making it harder for him to draw his sword, or rather the 6 foot long greatsword, or No Dachi that he carries at his hip.*
This armoured figure is none less than Ssarekai, a wandering dragon and occasional Warlord for the Cloudwalker family.
Ssarekai, or Kai, as his close friends call him, is a half blood, someone whos pattern on his shell wasn't quite right for someone born to rule, an almost freak of nature. His mother was a dragon from the DragonRealms and his father was from the Ios Blood Isles. By all rights, he should never have been born given that his parents come from different worlds entirely, but he was, and he's never looked back.
Life when he hatched was very difficult for him- a halfblood in a clutch of purebloods he was spat on, reviled for his mixed ancestry. He had the last laugh though, for as the clutch grew in age, power and experience he benefitted from the traditions of two separate draconic traditions. All his clutchmates could only change forms from draconic to that of an armoured man, whilst he could choose what form he took on. In magic too, he prospered, his mixed heritage again blessing him with the capability to draw on both worlds magical traditions. From the Realms, he inherited the ability to manipulate the magical spectrum, and from the Blood Isles he gained the ability to "store" spells for use later. It was not until much later that he learnt the true cost of his gifts.
The turning point in Kai's life came when his mother was brought up in front of the Council of Dragons. She was accused of treason against the Realms and the dragons of the Realms. She was found guilty and butchered mercilessly by the Council. Kai was also found guilty, by association. Sentenced to be stripped of his rank, his powers and abilities he was only spared at the last minute by his father who had decided to call in on his illegitimate son. He took him home to the Io's Blood Isles and put him up in his home. Fortunately his reception was a bit better than when he was born. This was in part due to the fact that at that time, the Clan was engaged in heavy skirmishing with the Red dragon Clan in the territory adjoining them.
The appearance of a silver dragon that didn't breathe cold at them at first stunned the reds, as did his way of fighting- materialising bows out of pure light with arrows that could cut through the toughest of dragonscale. By the time the skirmishes decreased in intensity Kai had made a name for himself with his unorthodox tactics and magical abilities.
It was about this time that Kai's half brother Agoron had to withdraw from his post as roving ambassador for the Clan, so Kai took up the post, a post which he has held for some time now
