Rurik was born in Norway. He became strong working his family fishing boats gaining the physique he has today. Rurik played wind instruments at the amateur level, but was a prize winning photographer. The Ragnar family moved to the United States when Rurik was 18. Rurik joined the Merchant Marines and saw more of the world, then returned to land and got a job with the government. His parents, old now, died within a month of each other. Rurik, now with a Norwegian company, managed the US branch. Headquarters in Olso sent Rurik to the city.
