
I saw you there, a silhouette, against
the black of night. Confused, I was not sure
of what your purpose was, but then I sensed
a calm that only lovers can endure.
I watched you reach above you very high
To search the perfect spot within the dark
And find your space upon the evening sky
In velvet blackness there you made your mark.
I ached to call your name and ask you please
To come to me and help me find the light
But I fell silent, dropping to my knees
And waited while you reached to greater height.
With sudden brightness I knew love's cocoon
'Twas then I knew that you had hung the moon.
