The FreeWoman known as "Moonglow"
As I look back over the years upon Gor my mind wanders back to whence I came.
My earliest recollections are of being aboard a vessel, the rolling of the sea rocking Me to sleep, the howl of the wind at the mast a lullabye. I remember the sounds of movement above on the decks, the shouts of men, Gorean Pirates they be, the plotting of plunders and ships to be taken, these were the voices and sounds I heard growing up, I never knew My Mother, she died giving Me life. My father, the ships Captain and loudest of All, the most feared and yet jolliest of Pirates was the one who raised Me, taught Me the ways of the sea, how to handle a sword and dagger, and how to survive above all else. Then one night a fierce storm at sea, we were attacked by another such vessel, My father awkened Me and placed Me beneath the planks of the floor in My room, told Me not to come out til all was safe. He placed a kiss upon My cheek, whispered He loved Me and to remember all that I had learned for the future would always be an adventure of sorts and full of danger at every turn for I was to remain and live upon Gor forever.
The fighting was loud, the words fierce, the screams and yells frightening and deafening. I shut My eyes tight, placed My hands over My ears and stayed as ordered, for three days and nights I laid there beneath the floor, then on a moonlit night, quiet and alone, I slipped overboard. Glancing back from the dock that we where moored at to the only Home I had ever known, the "Moonglow", knowing My Father was gone, returned to the sea from whence He came. I reached down into the pocket of My robe and feeling the pouch My father had placed there, filled with coins to help Me make My life bearable. I moved onward pulling the robe tightly around Me, and tucking the curls up beneath the veils that covered My head and face.
I found Myself in the streets of Port Kar, the open market place drew Me to it for nourishment which I purchased from peddlers, always careful and watching My back as I moved about, seeing eyes and hearing whispers from the unknown a I passed.
Finding a green door that seemed to draw Me closer, the battered sign hanging above it "Gorean Shores Tavern" I slipped inside, finding no one about, I moved close to the firepit and sat down upon a soft fur rug against the cold stone wall in shadows, it was My Home for many moons til travels took Me other places.
I am "Moonglow of Gor"
