Julina was born Julina Almeta Camelai Jose', she's the second eldest daughter of Eddy and Juanita Jose'.
Julina was raised in a place where a few odd feet separated your yard from your neighbors. Many hot summer nights the small covered porches throughout the barrio were littered with families sitting outside, hoping to capture some of the cool evening breezes that floated through.
Julina has seven brothers, who are all furiously protective of their siblings. A couple of brothers eventually found their way into the street gang that roamed and ruled the barrio. But, unlike many of the neighbors Julina's parents took an active role in their children's young lives and the losses to the streets weren't as severe as other families in the neighborhood. Her father worked hard to carve out a meager living for his family. The Jose's never missed Church even in sickness which was not a valid excuse not to attend.
At the age of 12 Julina was attending Catholic School, when a new boy moved into the barrio, his name was Connor O'Shea and according to Julina, 'that boy was just not right', it wasn't one of those love at first sight things. Julina wasn't really attracted to him, she had grown fast for her age and was taller then he was, could out run him, out climb him, and smoke him on her bike, besides he had a funny smile the kind that made her skin crawl when he grinned at her. He constantly was in trouble with the Nuns always trying to pass notes to her and on more then one occasion he got her into trouble and the back of her knuckles rapped... Those Nun knuckle raps really hadn't added to the attraction.
Fate has a funny way of dealing it's hand, Connor soon became the best friend of her older brother and was a constant fixture at the Jose's house. Both her parents welcomed Connor in with open arms. Connor always seemed to be around playing basketball or baseball with her brothers, always showing off. He probably was just being a boy but if anyone ever asked she'd tell them that Connor O'Shea was obsessed with her....retainer and all.
Two years passed and Julian started to notice Connor a little bit differently, soon the two became inseparable and she found herself telling Connor about all her dreams and ways to escape the barrio. Then one night he proved his undying love for her when an older boy twice their age and twice Connor size tried to look up Julian's skirt... Connor pulverized him. He instantaneously became her hero and he wasn't half bad looking when he ditched the baseball cap.
Connor was her first and is her only true love. He was the first boy she kissed full on the lips. He was the first boy that got past first base and he was the first and last man she will ever fall in love with.
At times the world just makes sense even after . Like all kids their age, they experimented with their budding sexuality and they decided they liked sex allot. More times then not they would sneak away and the inevitable happened. Julina became pregnant. So just shortly before she turned 18 years old Julina became Mrs. Connor O'Shea. 3 months later their baby girl Rosalita was born.
4 years have past, since they have taken their wedding vows, and the young couple are barely scraping by. Connor has recently graduated from the police academy and taken a position with the City Police Force.. Julina works at odd jobs, picking up what work she can as a waitress or bartender, and tending to their daughter. She is furiously in love with her husband and equally jealous. She thinks that every woman in the city "wants" him. She's jealous to the bone and threatens under her breath any time that any female dares look at him with what she perceives as 'puta lust' will get their face pushed in.
The relationship between their parents is a strained one. Julian's mother is certain that Connor is doing drugs and working both sides of the law, and not contributing at he level he should be, she constantly brings up their finical issues and thinks nothing of leaving Connor subtle remainders of his mainly duties, and begrudges him from drinking and fighting. While Connor's mother constantly reminds him that he is married to a puta who trapped him by having a baby.
Both Connor and Julian love their daughter and try hard to ignore the outside influences of negativity that their mothers have. The Connor's now reside at the Barton Apartments and are trying to make it in the City. They are a friendly couple who love each other, and are often seen in the lower parts of the city out together. Rarely do they go to the finer establishments unable to afford such luxuries. They drive an old beater car that often breaks down. Yet for all their diversities they are utterly devoted to each other.
