Jackson Graves had spent his entire life in the rolling hills of Eastern Tennessee. He had never had any other plans in life than to go to college, become a teacher, have a family and grow old in the same little town he had grown up in.

What they say about the best laid plans is true. He had been out of college for a few years, after completing his Masters programing. He was teaching Math at the same High School he had attended growing up. Jackson was one of those teachers who would do anything needed to reach and teach a student. He was a teacher that everyone respected and every kid that went through his class room fondly remembered from their High School experience.

Jackson lived for his students, and he was very in tunned with them. He started noticing one day that Nick, a once brilliant and social student, seemed to be withdrawing from everything. He had heard rumors of something happening on the family's annual hunting trip to Canada, but there were never any concrete details. Jackson watched as this brilliant student started to slip through the cracks, and Jackson was determined not to let it happen.

Weeks passed and there was no improvement, Jackson did everything he could, but even Nick's parents seemed to have given up on him. One full moon night, reaching the end of his rope, Jackson went out to the old farm house that Nick had taken to living in alone. Upon arrival he found out what had happened in Canada. And Jackson's life was forever changed. Nick was new to the draw of the moon, he did not mean to attack his teacher, the only person who seemed to give a damn. Nick never meant for any of this to ever happen.

Nick never left Jackson's side until he was released from ICU, and then he was at the hospital every day until Jackson was released. They were quiet, the attack was reported as a 'wild dog' incident and the two of them thought that they could weather this out together. That between the two of them, they could make a play with the cards that fate had dealt them. No one would ever be the wiser, no one would ever know their secret, and they waited for the next full moon to see if Jackson would change.

The week before the next moon, Jackson was called to the Principle's Office, it seems while he was in the hospital, blood was taken and it showed that Jackson was infected with lycanthropy. The Principle had been receiving calls all day from parents concerned about a 'monster' teaching their children. Jackson had no other choice but to resign.
