Jack O'Donnell Jack O’Donnell (Nick Name OD) had had ambitions to become a famous actor. He had talent and some promising reviews as a young man (in his twenties), earning him an invitation to audition for several movies in Hollywood. By the time he was in his mid-thirties, however, with nothing but a few bit parts to his credit, Jack had drowned all of those aspirations (along with just about everything and everyone else in his life, including His childless wife) in a river of booze. When one of the English Professors at Bardford University suddenly disappeared without a moment’s notice (reportedly to avoid the IRS), Dr. Wilson Blake had gone looking for Jack -- and found him passed out in hotel for hookers and drug dealers in the red light district of The City. Wilson sobered up His old friend, got Him a new suit of clothes, and gave him his schedule of classes before the charming middle aged drunk (now in his 40’s) had had a chance to say no. Calling on his old acting skills, Jack approached this teaching job as if it were a new role to play, and he managed to play it so well that it did not take him long to become one of the more respected and popular professors on campus. Every semester there were one or more young co-eds who took advantage of his extended office hours, receiving what was euphemistically referred to as "inspiration" from Bardford’s rogue thesbian.
