Ismena was born and raised in the City but as with most young people, she yearned for a life of excitement beyond the horizon. She set off for Europe and pounded the pavement looking for work but nothing turned up. Discouraged and almost down to her last dime, she pondered her next move while walking along a beach in Italy. It was then that fate stepped in and changed the course of her life forever. She was "discovered" by a photographer for an Italian fashion magazine while on that beach. He became her mentor, taking pictures for her portfolio, teaching her the ropes on the catwalk, and introducing her to people who would put her career on the fast track. Today she is the "face" of numerous designer labels and upscale beauty products. From time to time the "rat race" becomes too much for her to abide and she slips away, returning to her roots in the City, visiting friends and enjoying their company at quiet gatherings and evenings out. And if she is very lucky, she gets to be with the one who continues to hold her heart.
