  • Race: Half-Shere

  • Affiliation: Vanguard

  • Occupation: Shardsmith

  • Magical Abilities: Barely. She understands enough on how the shard works and how to tap into it's power. Using it? Is *barely* within her talent.
Skill: Fallow - Universal - Kenning. Sense if the shard is useful or dead. Stable or unstable.

  • Weapon: Fire Shard Pistol. It works like a normal pistol, but once it's "charged" it can shoot a ball of flame roughly the size of a ping pong ball. Two shots, balls last for two posts after the initial shot. Can only be used once every three days. No stacking.

  • Physical Appearance: Standing 5'6" with pale skin/fur. So thin and soft it can barely be seen at first. Her ears lie hidden under a swath of maroon colored hair. Her eyes a brilliant blue that is by no means human. A tail does in fact hang behind her, often hidden by her trench coat. Dainty claws on both hands and delicate feline fangs. Often completely covered. Pinstriped pants, long sleeve dress shirt, suspenders, tie, black gloves, black shoes, trench coat, and fedora hat.

  • Personality: She is the ultimate chameleon. She just works everywhere. She can fit in almost anywhere, with anyone, and anything. Give her a moment to assess a situation and she will melt in like she simply... belongs. It leaves alot to question about who she really is... if anyone bothers to care about a half shere. Truth is... there's only one way to find out. And most likely... she's not willing.

  • History: Cincinnati was born in the early spring to a human mother and Shere father. An only child, this was expected from her mother… Father was most amazed that he had not garnered a litter of at least three. But he loved her all the same, perhaps more so because she was his only child. There are many fond memories she has of being bounced on her fathers knee, or sitting curled up in front of the fire hanging on every word as he told her stories of his people. Her mother taught her all there was to know about machinery, and how it would work. Encouraged her tinkering and creations small and large.

School, however, was not as pleasant as her home life. Taunts and teases, she learned how to scrap and quick. Though she often had her parents called in because she was a “trouble maker”. Rise above, her parents always cautioned her. She was the product of love and a union of two races. She had nothing to be ashamed of. Naturally at first she believed they were crazy. And the fights continued until she actually broke some young human boys nose and dislocated his knee. She’d clawed his face and body to near shreds screaming at him that she’d make him a freak like her…

Needless to say, she was kicked out.

Her father was extremely disappointed. Mother ashamed. But both agreed their daughter needed a bit of discipline to learn to rise above. And so she was sent to Sanctuary to a military school. Cincinnati never once thought she would be so abandoned by her parents. That they would send her away with the assumption that it was “for her own good”. Bitter and resentful the fights continued. But here it was not something that would be tolerated, and for each incident there was a price to be paid. Her spirit didn’t break but she finally realized something else entirely. No matter what had happened to cause the incident… it was always her fault.

She began to watch and listen with a near critical air. The taunting she would react to noted, and the reactions of those around her recorded in her memory. Nothing happened to those that would torment her. But the instant she stood up for herself, hell would rain upon her head. Racism… her first taste of it, and it was a bitter spoon to swallow. Soon she turned her eye to all matters of her life and interaction, and in every aspect she could see… finally…

    Second Class citizen indeed.

From that point forward a determination was born that none have been able to stifle since. She would rise above, just as her parents had told her so many years ago. She would prove that blood and appearance meant nothing in comparison to mind and spirit. The rowdy girl began to meld into something else entirely. Cool calculation before she would act or speak, her work always the best she could do, and pressing to the top of her class. Of course, she was denied higher marks at times. Denied greater oppourtunities. And she turned her struggle from just improving herself, to climbing the ladder in hopes that she might have a chance to be more than what everyone else made of her.

She’s become a living chameleon, changing herself as a situation warrants, as people would dictate… never causing a ripple if she can help it and always seeking to mystify those around her with her talents and her creations. Joining the Vanguard was no mindless choice and has produced her with the chance to rise in rank and show others just how hight they can climb if they don’t let others hold them back.

She is now a shard smith for the vanguard and working her hardest to make herself irreplaceable to them. Recently she has been promoted to NCO, and received a position as engineer on the ship Diplomatic Immunity.

Word has been sent to her parents of her achievements through out the years, but as of yet…. There had been no replies.

Until her half brother showed up. She went and visited, of course, and came back a happier person for it. If a bit.. different. Long story short, she was the first hint of terrorism in Sanctuary. A bombing targeted on the Society, guided by her hand. Of course, during this battle she was brought down... by none other than Kefka.

The story he and she is a tricky one, at best. Best just to say they were fond of each other, dare we say in love, though Cin would deny it til blue in the face. Her life... was spared by the Sisters, thanks to Kefka's testimony and all knowledge Cin had in her mind. Some skill in modern hypnosis with the aid of shards in some manner, and Cin had been worked into a tool. The sisters unraveled the mess and sent her on her way.

Of course it was only a few months after that when the terrorists made their greatest attack. Infecting the water, driving the citizens mad into the streets, a riot to storm the Ivory tower and shake the sisters from their hiding place. A short event, and one that spurred the cleansing of Bedlam and Nimbus.

Since then, people have looked at her differently. She's officially been discharged from the Vanguard and now owns her own business as a freelance shard smith. Her skill ir renown, but with it comes that grain of doubt. She is half shere after all, related to the terrorists that infected and decimated the heart of the city. It would make anyone wary. She lives with Kefka and their strange array of friends and family. Content with her life just the way it is, and rather determined to keep it precisely the same.
