History: The youngest child of Lord and Lady Maunsell, Caterina was born at their keep on the Welsh border. She was educated in the standard feminine arts, ranging from embroidery to how to seat a horse, with the expectation that she would make an advantageous marriage. Safe at the Welsh border from the ravages of the Saxons, the Maunsells have amassed a fortune thanks to the gold and iron mines in the south of Wales, making them as wealthy as many dukes.
