Catalina's mother, Esmeralda was a prostitute who worked mostly in Ciudad Acuņa which is in Mexico. Esmeralda was born in the United States and lived in Del Rio. She wanted to remain a "good girl" in the USA. Both Catalina and her mother are U.S. citizens. They moved to New York City in 1993. Esmeralda stopped hooking in New York. One of the reasons she moved to New York was that she was being pressured to smuggle drugs from Ciudad Acuņa across the bridge to Del Rio. Catalina graduated from high school and then, she became a hooker in 2005. While a prostitute, she was occasionally blackmailed my police officers to give up sex in trade for not being arrested.
