Powers - Cameron has the abilities much like one might find in a ghost. She has the ability to turn insubstantial and invisible and all phases in between. While she is semi invisible, or as what she refers to as her ghost state, she takes on a pale visage and glows slightly. In this state if she were to pass through people she can communicate with them telepathically. Also while in her ghost state she can fly at double top running speed.

Cameron has always felt different than the others she grew up with and with reason. At 8, her powers came into play early in her life, when she broke her mother's lamp, then proceeded to wish she wasn't there and faded. The poor cat took the heat for the broken lamp and Cameron found out that day that she has her own gift to her delight. She was elated, but she learned to keep the knowing of her power under wraps. Her father is a fire and brimstone minister in the heart of the bible belt, Cam feared he simply would not understand. He talked of mutants being the minions of the devil, how if not kept in control they would bring on the rapture, and so on. It was enough to where it, by and large, put the fear of God into the little girl. She knew she would never use her power except in the privacy of her room or while she was alone.

The years flew by, and Cameron grew up from a gangly young girl to a shy and soft spoken young woman. She graduated with honors at the top of her class in high school and had her pick of many offers of scholarships throughout the nation. She thought to go to KSU to be near her family, when everything had changed. While in her room, she had forgotten to lock her door while she was exercising her gift by floating around the room, all pale and glowing. At that moment her father came up to ask her about dinner and saw what his daughter could do. At that moment his facial expression would haunt her. It was a look of confusion, disbelief and most of all it was a look of terror. The door slammed shut and what happened afterwards was all one big blur but when the dust settled Charles Collins disowned his pride and joy and kicked her out of his house never wanting to see her again. Her mother, although much more sympathetic and open minded than her father, eventually also had bowed to his demands and cut ties with her only daughter. Crushed, all of Cam's plans to go to KSU were for naught. NYU wooed her not only for her academic talents but her artistic talents as well. Also having heard that New York is more open to those who are 'different' it truly was an easy choice in the end.

That was three years ago. Her relationship with her mother has improved considerably to the point where she would help keep Cameron expenses in check while the young woman attended NYU. What they say about living in the Big Apple is no joke; it is not a cheap place to live even in the center of bohemia in Greenwich Village. Her father, on the other hand, will still not speak to her. She has heard the words before...'you are dead to me'... and he will never change his mind.

With the disastrous result of her father finding out, Cameron still keeps what she can do under wraps as much as she can. In time maybe that will change. She hopes so for holding the secret of her power is becoming too much to bear.
